Our wedding is taking place on Friday 25th May 2007 at 6.30pm in Altea, Spain.

Altea is just north of Benidorm and the closest airport is Alicante being approximately 40 mins away. For more information on the area take a look at www.comunitatvalenciana.com

Transport

Taxis can be found on leaving the airport and cost roughly 40€ - 50€ to Benidorm and Altea.

Buses run regularly to and from Benidorm.

For those wishing to take advantage of it, coaches have been arranged to pick up guests at the Villa Gadea Hotel to take them to the church. Unfortunatley, time will not allow the coach to pick up from other hotels, so please use the Villa Gadea Hotel as a meeting point. The coach will wait at the church, then take you to the reception venue. Times for this will follow.

Directions

On leaving the airport follow the signs for Valencia/Benidorm onto the AP 7 motorway. Stay on this motorway all the way for roughly 30 mins and take the exit for Altea. Eventually this road turns into a toll road and costs approx 4€ to Altea. After paying at the toll booth the road sweeps round to the right and the second exit on the right for Altea brings you directly to the Villa Gadea Hotel.

5* Melia Villa Gadea - Altea
This is the hotel closest to the wedding reception. It is within walking distance and you will be back to your room within 5 mins. Rooms have been prebooked here at discount prices based on per room, per night, including bed and breakfast.

Double Superior Room - single use : 126€ + 7% V.A.T.
Double Superior Room : 135€ + 7% V.A.T.
Double Deluxe Room : 185€ + 7% V.A.T.

If you wish to book a room please ring the Villa Gadea hotel on 0034 966 817 100 where the staff speak English. The prebooked rooms are under reference 'the Julia Duckworth wedding in May 2007'. Please use this to receive the discounted prices. The time period for this discount ends on 31st March 2007 so that any empty rooms can be returned to the hotel. Rooms can be secured with a credit card number or deposit by bank transfer and full payments are made on departure.

This hotel is a 5 minute car journey from the wedding reception. Rooms haven't been prebooked here however, the prices on enquiry were 44.00€ per room, per night.

Apartments

For apartments in and around Altea please contact Martin Womack. He has accommodation in the Villa Gadea complex which is situated directly next to the wedding reception, making it a few minutes walking distance. These are 2 and 3 bedroom apartments costing approx £500 for 10 nights, but please confirm this with Martin. Bookings on 01253 735646 or 07971899150 . A selection of apartments have been pre booked for people wishing to stay in Benidorm. It is approximately 20 mins by taxi Altea - Benidorm and costs between 15€ - 20€.
